MARC McGRATH tucked home the winner as Bels closed the gap on the FNB Priaulx League leaders last night with a 2-1 win over Vale Rec.

Paris Pereira gave Alfie Le Page's side a 1-0 half-time lead at the Corbet Field, but Naro Zimmerman equalised for the hosts on the hour mark when he stabbed the ball home from close range.

However, McGrath showed his finisher's instinct with quarter-of-an-hour to go when Pereira's miscued shot ended up at his feet and he quickly turned and slipped the ball past the oncoming Vale Rec goalkeeper Jody Bisson.

Although Bels still sit in fifth place, they now have 14 points, only three behind league leaders Saints having played the same number of games.
