Aussie twins make a hurried exit

RAIDERS’ Australian twins have jumped ship a third into the season.

Head coach Jordan Reynolds exclusively revealed the shock news yesterday and said it was simply down to money and he was not bitter in the slightest.

Asher and Amanaki Veamatahau have signed for struggling Midlands Premier League club Peterborough Lions and will get paid for the privilege says Reynolds.

‘We can’t pay them obviously because we are a strictly amateur club.

‘We refuse to make payments to players. It is what it is, though, and we are happy with the stance we’ve taken.’

It seems the players headed to the UK without a word of goodbye or thanks to the Raiders management.

The move happened at the end of last week and while Reynolds kept the situation under wraps ahead of the win at Bedford Athletic, he felt it was right now to make the news public.
