GFC gave a full start to UK based 17-year-old Tom Jackson and on the bench making his first trip with the club was Saints’ versatile Steve Renouf.

Allen gave the Green Lions a 13th minute lead and for a brief moment shortly after he had the ball in the net again, only to be denied by a linesman’s flag.

The reinvigorated striker did not have to wait long for another though, Jackson’s superbly weighted pass setting him up for a fine finish.

Gauvain then made the points safe with a third on 64min. and the visitors held firm until three minutes into stoppage time when Keanu Marsh handled on the line and, after he received a red card, the home side hit a consolation.

In the FNB Priaulx League Manzur recovered from 0-3 down to draw 3-3 with Rovers.
