Raiders tame the Stags again
RAIDERS thumped CS Stags 1863 for the second time this campaign to keep up the pressure on Rochford at the top of the London and SE Premier.
While the leaders were digging deep to stave off Wimbledon 12-3, Raiders were putting 52 points on the Stags to gain another full set of match points and close to within one point of Rochford at the top.
Raiders, who ran in eight tries, six of which were converted by Owen Thomas, had fallen behind but were soon ahead through the first of Anthony Armstrong's three tries, converted by the fly-half.
By half-time Raiders had pulled out to a 19-10 lead and in the second half eased away with another power show which denied the home side any more points.
Doug Horrocks helped himself to two tries, Matt Armstrong one and in the final minutes both Tom Teasdale and Lucas Barker went over.
Raiders are now eight points clear of third-placed Wimbledon, although the latter do have a match in hand on both the top sides.
