Sub Henry shoots down the faltering leaders

PANTHERS continued their upturn in league fortunes by sending South Division Three’s leaders packing yesterday.

Trinity arrived at Beau Sejour seeking to rekindle the form that saw them go undefeated until Christmas, but a strong second half from the Guernsey ladies resigned them to a third straight loss of this very different side of the campaign.

The ‘Rezzers’ duo of centre-court captain Tiff Gervaise-Brazier and holding shooter Clare Henry stood out individually – yet Panthers owed their overall 45-34 success to a strong team performance.

‘We’re delighted to get the win against the top team,’ Gervaise-Brazier said after shining at centre and latterly wing-defence.

‘We knew going into this game they were beatable from our last game and we just needed to be a lot more clinical.

‘It was great to get Clare on and mix that up and I just thought we were really strong today and the ball started to move around the court much better.

‘We did have a slow start but I’m glad we weren’t punished for that early on and we made up for it there.’
