Titans beat leaders in thriller

TITANS ended the league leaders’ enviable win streak with a suitably big performance on Tuesday night.

Their margin of victory against Rezzers Green had been less substantial, though, with Donna Brehaut’s side coming from behind to seal a thrilling 48-47 triumph in the dying minutes at Les Beaucamps.

In doing so, they became the only team other than the Island Men to have overcome Tiff Gervaise-Brazier’s Rezzers this season.

Titans had clearly signposted their intent with two displays of dominance against champions Blaze last month.

But they needed every ounce of determination to upset Rezzers, who had won the 2017-18 league before pushing Blaze to a decisive finale last season.

‘We are obviously delighted with the win and always felt that we can take points off Blaze and Rezzers Green on our day and at full strength,’ said the Titans captain and wing-attack.

‘We have been able to find consistent form against the top-tier teams, which has been great.

‘We are really looking forward to trying to continue to build on this and finish the season strongly.’
