Bels enjoy their Friday night outing

SAVING Bels was the primary objective when, last summer, a large group of old boys agreed to head back to the Track.

But, surely, it wasn’t all about a rescue mission, having a bit of fun in the process was part and parcel of the reason.

Until Friday night that has not been often visible, but at Vale Rec’s expense they clearly had some, creating chances for fun, scoring three crackers and with it climbing a spot in the lower half of the table with a 5-2 win.

Had Marc McGrath brought his shooting boots, Vale would have been well and truly crushed.

There were two goals each for Wayne Bishop and Joby Bourgaize while McGrath scored from the penalty spot.

Rec's goals came from Naro Zimmerman and Glenn Le Tissier.
