Unlucky Lions losing ground

THE Green Lions now sit four places and nine points off the play-off spots after an unlucky 2-1 loss to a freakish winner at Hythe Town’s Reachfields ground.

It was GFC’s second straight loss and third without a win.

Ross Allen had cancelled out a Hythe opener with a 45th minute penalty and the visitors were convinced they should have had a second spot-kick when sub Robbie Legg was upended in the second half.

The winner came midway through the half as Walder’s whipped corner somehow found itself in the back of the net, but inside the next five minutes GFC responded with a strong penalty claim and Allen smashed a free-kick against the crossbar.
