Only one thing can surely stop the Northerners now

WHAT a watching Chris Tardif made of it all one can only guess.

A bright, inventive but sloppy and wasteful Alderney end up being comprehensively beaten, 4-0, as North moved three points nearer the FNB Priaulx League title.

And, to make matters worse for the blues, combative midfielder Jermaine Parry overdid the combat two minutes from time and with a nasty, over the top tackle on young Jake Elmy, collected himself a straight red.

As Jimmy Hill was happy to say from time to time: ‘Funny old game’.

North looked nothing like potential champions for large parts of the game, particularly the first half, but had they brought their shooting boots might have won 10-8 or some ludicrous scoreline like that because the defending on both sides left much to be desired.

As it turned out, though, the league leaders kept a clean sheet while at the other end Sam Murray scored twice and Mario Cacace and Scott Bougourd also got on the scoresheet.
