Rangers snatch remarkable point on first Saturday in Priaulx League season

DALE GARLAND turned back the clock with a brace and Brad Foss smashed a hat-trick in a remarkable turnaround at St Andrew’s that saw Rangers grab a dramatic 5-5 FNB Priaulx League draw at home to Vale Rec.

A Rangers side that had six 16-yearolds in their starting side, lost keeper Reece Le Brun to injury in the first half and with no replacement keeper on the bench, were forced into emergency measures.

Vale swept into a 2-0 lead and although the home side battled back to 2-2, Vale then stretched away to 5-2 and seemingly had the game won.

But Garland fired his second to make it 5-3 and Foss scored two more to complete his hat-trick with still 10 minutes left.

Danny Ozanne (two), Glenn Le Tissier, Sam Le Huray and Christian de Carteret netted for Vale.

At the same time at the Track on Saturday afternoon, a late Liam Mahon penalty earned Manzur a deserved point in a 2-2 draw with North. Sam Murray netted from the spot for the visitors with tom de la Mare scoring North's second after Marlon Jardim had put the hosts ahead.

Later in the day, Jake Lowe and Dom Heaume scored for St Martin's in their 2-1 win over Rovers at Blanche Pierre Lane. Blair Howitt had equalised Lowe's opener for the visitors.
