Manzur into the top three
MANZUR leapfrogged both Belgraves and Sylvans to go third in the FNB Priaulx League table with last night’s comfortable 3-0 win over Vale Rec at the Track.
Matt Loaring had given Mark Romeril’s side a well-deserved single goal interval lead and early in the second period Manzur doubled their lead with a deflected effort from Kez Mahon.
The third was a real beauty, Dave Rihoy picking up possession 40m out before taking the ball forward 10m and curling a fantastic finish high to the keeper’s left, just underneath the angle.
With 20min. left, and the points in the bag, Marlin Jardim got a rest but Manzur kept on creating chances, Mahon going close to his second against a poor Rec side struggling for numbers.
Rihoy headed wide from close range as Rec tried to limit the damage against a side who probably still need to win their remaining two games to stand a chance of grabbing a top-three finish.
