They mastered the strong winds that whipped across L’Ancresse for the second evening in a row yesterday to defeat the pairing of Arthur Evans and Ollie Chedhomme 4 & 3 in the final.
The victors clinched the title in great style, too.
Just when their opponents were threatening to make it a nervy finish having won back-to-back holes, Nicolle rolled in a 20-plus footer with plenty of left-to-right break in it on the 15th green to settle the issue.

The 2019 Island champion called their championship success ‘unexpected’.
‘There were so many good pairings that were competing, but we played some good golf and were happy to be here,’ Nicolle said.
Talking about the key to their success in the alternate-shot format, Marshall added: ‘Keeping calm and not getting down about bad shots, just sticking with it.’
Guernsey men’s team captain and event organiser Dave Jeffery was delighted with how the inaugural event panned out, especially considering it was put together in around three weeks, and praised the winners.
‘The golf they played today in tough, windy conditions was exceptional. They were worthy winners over two very good players in Ollie and Arthur,’ he said.
‘The event did achieve what I wanted. It will be bigger and better [in future], it was not perfect but it was put together at short notice. I would like to get more players involved and hopefully we will see the field double in size.’
