Ross warms to the chance

ROSS ALLEN added another hat-trick to his long list of trebles and would have had four but for a brilliant Jason Martin penalty save, and the Green Lions got a vital 90 minutes in their legs at Blanche Pierre Lane.

The FNB Priaulx League champions proved good opposition for Tony Vance’s men, especially given that the Isthmian League team were without a few key men ahead of the trip to Sutton Common Rovers this weekend.

Jamie Dodd was spotted on crutches and two of the starting side, including veteran defender Tom Strawbridge, had played a whole game the previous afternoon.

The Green Lions started with Jordan Kelly in goal and a back three of Thomas Dodds, Tom Strawbridge and Ben Le Tocq.

In midfield Charlton Gauvain played wide right, Kez Mahon holding, Liam Mahon, Ben Acey and Matt Loaring on the left.

Kyle Smith joined Ross Allen up front.

The Green Lions moved 3-0 up before Chris Le Noury got a goal back and there was also another fine strike by young Cal Le Lacheur for the home side.

Subs Seb Skillen and Ryan-Zico Black also netted for the Green Lions.
