Director of rugby Jordan Reynolds reported yesterday that due to Covid cases and injuries, he is unable to field the requisite number of props for the fixture.

‘You have got to start the game with five front-row [in the squad] – at the moment I’ve got just two,’ he said.

‘I have been ringing around looking to find loan players, doing everything to try and play this game.

‘Leicester Lions were the first team to come to us [once Covid restrictions allowed] and we want to return the favour. My main motivation is to get these fixtures played.

‘Previously, when we have had Covid cases in the backs or second and back rows, you can move players around, but we cannot do that with the front row – you need specialists.’
