GFC, who went into the game without high-profile regulars Ross Allen, Charlton Gauvain and the Mahon brothers among others and gave debuts to Keene Domaille and George McNeela, fell behind to their in-form hosts in the third minute when an unmarked Darryl Sanders headed home Giovanni Palmer’s pinpoint cross.

The Green Lions responded well and created a couple of good chances, but the first half ended 1-0.

Bedfont Sports doubled their lead in the 74th minute through Jordan Esprit but GFC kept pressing and got a reward when Will Fazakerley tapped in after Matt Loaring’s shot was parried.

However, Dan Williams made the game safe for Bedfont with a 90th-minute rocket.
