L’Ancresse pairing lead the qualifiers
DANNY BISSON and Tom Pattimore are top seeds going into the Guernsey Press Elite Men’s Foursomes Championship knockout stages, having led the way in qualifying yesterday.
The L’Ancresse GC duo accumulated an impressive 39 Stableford points on a morning when three pairings went under par off scratch.
Bisson and Pattimore had birdies at the third and eighth holes as they scored 18 points on the front nine. Coming home, they had six pars and birdies at the 11th, 15th and 17th holes.
They will now play Jason Savident and Mich Davy, who went through the added drama of a play-off with Tom Le Huray and Wayne Moore to see who would go through in 15th and 16th places.
Le Huray won the 18th at the second time of asking to take the higher spot and he and his partner will face second seeds Roland Mills and Arthur Evans this afternoon.
The South African pairing scored 37 points in the qualifier, taking second place on countback from Nigel Vaudin and George Melhuish, who take on Jeff Domaille and Garry McFarlane today.
Defending champion Jeremy Nicolle and his new partner CJ Elmy progressed as fourth seeds and they now face junior combination Lewis Marley and Jayden Tucknott.
