In temperatures in the mid-30Cs, the Green Lions fought out a 0-0 draw away to Thatcham Town in Berkshire.

Tony Vance handed both Jason Martin and Sam Murray full debuts for GFC while Danny Hale returned to the starting XI and Keanu Marsh made his 100th appearance for the club.

Murray came close to opening his goal account in the first half but both he and Jacob Fallaize were denied by Thatcham goalkeeper Jack Hopwood in the opening 45 minutes.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock after the interval on a day when the heat made things difficult.

GFC are back in action on Wednesday when they visit Sutton Common Rovers, who won at Chipstead on Saturday.
