Wolves to swoop for £25m-rated Guernsey star?

Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks to sign Guernsey star Alex Scott from Bristol City, according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph’s midlands football reporter, John Percy, claims Wolves are “very keen” to sign the 19-year-old during the January transfer window but have so far been put off by the Robins’ £25m asking price.

Scott, who played locally for St Martin’s and Guernsey FC before joining Bristol City, has also been heavily linked with a move to Bournemouth this month — in a £20m double-transfer alongside team-mate Antoine Semenyo.

“That would be the bargain of the century if they got both of those for £20m”, said GFC manager Tony Vance of those rumours.

“'I would say £20m at least [for Alex on his own]”, he said.

Despite his age, Scott has already become a mainstay in the Bristol City midfield and helped England to victory in last summer’s European U19 Championship.

Earlier this season he made his debut for England’s U20s as they prepare for this summer’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
