The Manchester United defender, who last week was named the CI Sports Personality of the Year for the second time having made her senior England debut against Norway in Spain in November, is part of a 26-strong squad named by manager Sarina Wiegman for the four-nation tournament with the fixtures to be played on double-header match days.

The Lionesses will face Korea Republic on Thursday 16 February in Milton Keynes, Italy on Sunday 19 in Coventry and Belgium on Wednesday 22 at Ashton Gate in Bristol, the home ground of Le Tissier’s former St Martin’s club-mate Alex Scott.

England won the inaugural competition on home soil last year before going on to become Uefa Women’s Euro champions.

‘The first camp of the year is always important to set the right tone for what comes next, especially with such a big opportunity in the summer,’ said Wiegman, with an eye on the Fifa Women’s World Cup in Australia beginning in July.
