With Kieran Mahon already ruled out through his knee problem, captain Jamie Dodd will miss the rearranged clash with Hanworth Villa at Footes Lane due to the injury that forced him off in Saturday’s win over Binfield while former professional Dave Merris is away for work.

‘Not having Doddie or Dave is a big loss because both are leaders and Dave, in particular, has been in outstanding form,’ said Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance.

‘It’s unusual to say that I’m concerned about missing a 42-year-old, but the level he has been at and what he is bringing to the team has been excellent. He also created two goals at the weekend with the quality of his delivery.

‘But the group’s motivation is high at the moment. In the last five or six games we have turned a corner in terms of expectations and what we have to do is follow on from a good performance on Saturday.’

Tenth-placed Hanworth Villa arrive in decent form, having lost just once since the turn of the year.

They also led at Footes Lane in December before the game was abandoned following the terrible injury suffered by Tom Scott.

‘From what happened in the last game, they will be playing with a lot of emotion,’ Vance said.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.45pm and admission is free.
