Young Guernsey coach Jordan Kelly, who only took over the side in the last few weeks of preparation, was delighted at the final whistle.

‘As a group we were always on it. I had massive belief in us and we went out there and delivered. We always had the belief and the lads went out there and delivered it,’ he said.

‘The errors that we’ve made have brought them into the game. You’ve got to give credit where it’s due to Guernsey, they battled hard, did everything that we expected.'

‘But it’s our errors that cost us the game, and it’s an experience I don’t want to have again, and don’t want the players to have to experience again.’

North striker Owen Wallbridge, who set up Guernsey’s last minute equaliser in normal time for Zac Batiste, was named man of the match.
