Guernsey star Maya Le Tissier achieved another significant milestone on Tuesday night, helping Manchester United Women to a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain on her — and the club's — Champions League debut.

She played the full 90 as United fought back from a goal down to level the second round tie ahead of the return leg in Paris next week, where a place in the group stage will be at stake.

'It was my dream to play Champions League football - and just to play out here is unreal', Le Tissier told MUTV after taking on the two-time finalists.

'Just hearing the anthem I was kinda getting goosebumps'.

'First half we had to weather the storm a little bit - for the whole 45 minutes - but that's what you have to do to win these kind of games', she said.

It was a historic night for Manchester United Women, who earned the opportunity to play in Europe's elite club competition after breaking into the top three in the Women's Super League for the first time last season.

'We went into the game with a plan and second half we definitely executed it a bit better and we were on the front foot', said Le Tissier.

'We came away with a 1-1 so I think we can be pleased with that but it's all to play for in Paris and I think we're really excited for that as well.'
