Le Tissier wins her third cap for the Lionesses

Maya Le Tissier claimed an assist and came close to her first international goal as she won her third England cap in the 7-2 victory over Austria on Friday evening.

The Guernsey defender played the full game at right back for the Lionesses in the friendly played at the Estadio Nuevo Mirador in Spain, setting up Rachel Daly for the final goal of the night with a terrific through pass in injury time.

'It was a really good game, I actually really enjoyed it,' said Le Tissier, who had a powerful header well saved by Austria goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger in the second half.

'It was really fun to be out there with the girls.

'It was a great night, lots of goals, our fans got to see lots of goals as well, so all in all very good.'

There were also two goals apiece for Alessia Russo and Beth Mead, with Jess Carter and debutante Grace Clinton getting on the scoresheet too.

England face Italy in Spain on Tuesday.
