Aspida to support women's cricket in Guernsey for next three years
Guernsey Cricket has announced a new three-year partnership with Aspida to support the development of the women’s game in the island at all levels.
The locally-owned company will be the headline sponsor across all of Guernsey’s women and girls programmes, from developing youth participation to the island’s representative squad.
‘This is wonderful and exciting news,’ said Philippa Stahelin, women and girls lead on the GCB board.
‘Our women’s and girls programme is developing strongly, attracting more and more participants and Aspida’s support will be instrumental in driving our ambitions forward.’
Guernsey Cricket says its aims around women’s cricket reflect those of the sport’s global governing body, with 10 fixtures lined up for the national side this season.
‘Developing the women’s game is one of our most important priorities,’ said Guernsey Cricket CEO Carl Brooks.
‘This year, the senior international team has some great fixtures, including the Nordic Cup ICC tournament in Oslo in August.
‘And looking ahead to 2025, we have ambitions to provide junior and recreational leagues alongside a coaching programme across all levels of ability,’ he said.
