The Guernsey ace goes at 6.51pm BST in the third and last of tonight's 400m hurdles semis at Paris' Stade de France, having two days earlier qualified automatically with a top-three finish in his heat.

His season's best of 48.54sec. ranks him sixth fastest in a semi headed by USA superstar Rai Benjamin.

Chalmers is running from lane nine and will need a massive performance to make the final, with only the top two per semi progressing, plus another two 'fastest loser' spots available.

But the 24-year-old told his social media fans yesterday evening that he is 'feeling more determined than ever'.

'When you're in a semi-final, you can sometimes kind of sneak into the final,' he had said in an earlier Guernsey Press Sport Podcast interview.
