GUERNSEY let slip a golden opportunity to claim a big scalp yesterday at the KGV.
Having suffered a convincing defeat on Sunday, the home side hit back with a vengeance at the start of the second match in the Carlsberg International Challenge series and put themselves in pole position to beat Denmark.
However, the batting woes of recent times struck once more in the middle of the Guernsey innings and, despite good fight in the lower order, they slipped to a 13-run defeat.
Yet while there was obvious disappointment etched into coach Andy Cornford's face, he was philosophical about the result.
'Of course we want to win every game but, importantly, we are playing opposition who test us and against whom we are learning valuable lessons,' he said.
