Guernsey pay price

A BATTING collapse saw Guernsey's under-19s lose comfortably to the Netherlands in the first match of the ICC Challenge Series at the KGV.

Despite looking a flat batting track to the eye, the Sarnians were skittled for just 99, before threatening a remarkable comeback as they reduced the Dutch to five for three in reply.

But a steady partnership from James Gruytes and Dick van Baren steadied the visitors and won them the match, which was all over less than 30 minutes after lunch.
