THE cool efficiency of the Netherlands under-19s accounted for Guernsey for the third day in a row yesterday.

Having swept their hosts 2-0 in the 50-over matches, the Dutch completed a whitewash with a comprehensive victory in the Twenty20 encounter at the KGV.

After electing to bat on another good batting track, the visitors got off to a fine start, largely thanks to an excellent half-century from opener Paul van Meekeren, while the rest of the top order all chipped in with useful contributions.

'It has been the same story for three days,' said Guernsey coach Lee Savident. 'The Dutch are a very efficient side who stick to the basics and stick to their plans. When things did not go quite right for them this week, they found a way of getting back to their plans quickly.'
