Historic win the highlight

GUERNSEY under-17s continued their impressive form by returning from a tour of Sussex with a victory to their names over the county's Emerging Players side.

Coached by Jeremy Frith, the young Sarnians took a win off the Netherlands in their preceding ICC Challenge Series and the UK tour was a build-up to this month's ICC matches in Scotland.

Playing three matches at the Hove County Ground, they lost the first encounter by eight wickets, only to bounce back superbly and win the second by five wickets.

Although they lost the final clash by 108 runs, Frith was pleased with how the trip went for his side.

'We were looking for three really competitive games ahead of the trip to Scotland and we got them,' he said.
