ROSS KNELLER picked up from where he left off on Sunday as he helped Cobo start the defence of the Lancaster Trustees Evening League Division One title with a six-wicket win last night.

Having played a starring role for the GCB Chairman's XI at the weekend, the island batsman returned to the KGV with his club side and continued to find the middle of his bat as the champions chased down 115 with nine balls of their 16 allotted overs to spare.

Kneller hit five fours and one large six with some sweet timing as he compiled 59 from just 41 balls after coming in at first wicket down.

Notoriously slow starters in the Evening League, Cobo looked as if their old failing might rear its ugly head once more as both openers, Jamie Nussbaumer and Tim Ravenscroft, managed to hit long hops straight down mid-on's throat in the first two overs.
