Guernsey cricketers prepare for start of summer programme
AS HIS side begin their summer fixtures programme, Nic Pothas admits he is looking to settle on his ideal Guernsey XI over the coming months.
Pothas takes his senior national team to Sussex this weekend for two 50-over matches against Denmark, where the Carlsberg Challenge Trophy is on offer.
It is the first action for the Sarnians since their winter World Cricket League Five campaign saw them relegated, whereas Denmark are preparing for their upcoming Division Four matches.
There are new faces in the Guernsey ranks – namely young all-rounders Ollie Nightingale and Adam Martel, as well as seamer Chris van Vliet – as the 13-man group looks to move forward.
The matches take place at the Sutton Winson Academy Ground in Blackstone on Saturday and Sunday.
