THE presence of two top-class Guernsey riders at international level is proving an inspiration, admits James McLaughlin, who is on the verge of signing for a new professional team.
The 20-year-old Sarnian has just completed a strong season, including winning five silver medals at the Island Games, as well as racing for UK team Pendragon and also in Europe.
And with fellow local lad Tobyn Horton in stunning form in recent weeks, McLaughlin admits that, as a pair, they can help push each other on to another level.
'For Tobyn to finish seventh in a Tour of Britain stage was a great result, considering the quality he was up against,' he said.
