ROSS ALLEN makes an immediate return to the Guernsey FC squad for today's crunch Ryman South clash – but Tony Vance insists there is a 'pecking order' that the club record scorer is not currently at the top of.

After four months of travelling, the Green Lions' star striker returned to the island and to training in the last week and has earned an immediate call into a 15-man squad for the trip to Chatham Town.

However, his manager says that there is more than a touch of fortune involved in the quick recall for a match that he admits is a 'must not lose' one for his side.

'We have four players out due to injury or illness – Seb Skillen, Tom Martin, Matt Loaring and Robbie Legg – and Angus Mackay suspended, so Ross is very lucky to get an immediate call-up,' said Vance.

'Saying that, it is testament to the shape he is still in that he is in a position to be ready and in the two training sessions he has had, he looks like he hasn't been away.

'I am not going to deny that he is a fantastic option to have back available and if the game situation dictates he may get some pitch time, but everybody knows there is a pecking order.'
