Colin Kimber, the North president of just six months, read out a letter of complaint at a feistier than usual annual meeting of the Association at, of all places, the Northfield clubhouse.

But whether Guernsey’s second oldest club will press ahead with a formal complaint is yet to be decided.

The issue stems from a GFA clubs collective to put forward a counter-proposal to the ruling body’s request to raise registration fees by an additional £10 to pay for GFLM administration.

Roberts was accused by North of referring to North officials as ‘ring-leaders’ .

The verbal complaint was minuted and Roberts declined to comment when approached on the matter yesterday.

That club proposal was defeated after North again made the claim that it was a ‘financially irresponsible’ move, while a counter viewpoint saw the GFA Board secretary Rob Titterington point out that the club proposal would be financially harmful to the Association and cost them £21k of annual income.

‘I don’t expect how the GFA could expect to carry on,’ he said ahead of the failed vote.

Earlier, on an evening of surprising moves, new GFA director Steve Sharman offered a board admission that the GFA don’t communicate well and that had to be improved.
