In a terrific encounter, Guernsey blew a two-goal first half lead after Loaring scored his first goal of the game following a Will Fazakerley wonder strike.

Make no mistake, this was a fully deserved win. Clinical in attack and resolute in defence Guernsey showed great character after seeing a commanding lead wiped out on 70 minutes.

Keeper James Hamon looked assured under a bombardment of high balls in goal in bright, blustery conditions.

Tom Strawbridge was calm in the centre of defence whilst Frank Tobin and Thomas Dodds both put in last-ditch tackles at crucial times.

Fazakerley was a handful from the start and it was the tall centre forward who opened the scoring with a stunning 14th minute left- foot strike from just inside the penalty area.

Keanu Marsh wasted a golden opportunity to double the lead on 30 minutes when he cut in on the left wing only to fizz the ball over the crossbar.

But Loaring slotted home a minute from half time when Matthew Quirk failed to hold a stinging Fazakerley 25-yard free kick, after Marsh was scythed down.

Rhys Oates pulled a goal back for Isle of Man on 48 minutes with a neat finish, Stephen Whitley then fired before Daniel Simpson lashed home to level the scores from close range.

But Loaring then snaked through from the right wing before slotting home the winner.
