Away to Old Elthamians – a team who joined Guernsey in being promoted at the same time from South East – it was the home team who took full advantage of Guernsey's poor start.
Within five minutes, Old Elthamians sliced through the Guernsey centres, then kicked ahead for their winger to win the race for a converted try in the corner.
Guernsey continued to drop the ball and give away far too many penalties as they tried to regroup.
