GUERNSEY stole three second-half tries under the lights at Footes Lane on Saturday night and with it very much kept alive their promotion hopes.

The win keeps them on the fringes of the promotion chase, seven points adrift of the two pacesetters, Chichester and Basingstoke, both of whom have now won five out of five.

The Sussex side were very physical and a big test, but contributed to their own downfall as skipper Blair Campbell twice punished them, and James Regnard atoned for another spell in the sin-bin with a vital try when it seemed the visitors might well just nick it.

And although his side claimed the three points, player-coach Jordan Reynolds was honest enough to admit it was far from a vintage display.
