GUERNSEY were indebted to the boot of Luke Jones as they won a tight match at Cobham on Saturday.

The young fullback slotted over seven successful kicks at goal for a personal haul of 18 points to add to a try for captain Blair Campbell and two from Robin Le Cocq.

The game resembled a tennis match early on with end-to-end passages of play as both teams forced their way into the opposition's half only to then turn over possession.

However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock when, after some good rucking from the forwards, Campbell broke through the Cobham defence on halfway and sprinted to the line for a fine individual score that Jones converted.
