Golden State Warriors beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-94 but were dealt a blow when Stephen Curry injured his knee in his comeback game.

Curry, who had sat out the last six games with an ankle injury, sprained his knee in the second half but not before scoring 29 points.

Nick Young added 24 points with six three-pointers as the Warriors claimed their 12th win in 13 games – and their seventh over the Hawks.

LaMarcus Aldridge recorded a career-high 45 points as the San Antonio Spurs overcame the Utah Jazz in overtime.

Donovan Mitchell stood out for Utah, with two three-pointers to send the game into overtime, but the Spurs were helped by a late surge from Patty Mills to claim the 124-120 victory.

The Boston Celtics fought back from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-100.

But 30 points from Marcus Morris including a lead-clinching three-pointer in the fourth helped lift the Celtics to victory, and saw Portland suffer their second loss in a row after a 13-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, LeBron James scored 27 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers pushed the Phoenix Suns to their 10th loss in a row.

James also added nine assists and six rebounds, while Kevin Love scored 20 points, as the Cavs dominated with a 30-point lead in the third and an overall 120-95 victory which puts Phoenix on seven straight losses against Cleveland.

Elsewhere, the Denver Nuggets beat the Washington Wizards 108-100, the Indiana Pacers overcame the Los Angeles Clippers 109-104 and the New York Knicks lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-108.

The Toronto Raptors claimed a 116-112 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, the Oklahoma City Thunder narrowly beat the Miami Heat 105-99 and the Chicago Bulls lost at home 105-118 against the Milwaukee Bucks.
