How do Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku compare ahead of World Cup showdown?
The England striker has made a stunning start to his campaign in Russia with five goals in two games.
Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku have both made flying starts to their World Cup campaigns, scoring nine goals between them.
The England striker currently leads the race for the Golden Boot with five goals, which included a hat-trick against Panama.
England and Belgium go head-to-head on Thursday to decide who will finish top of Group G but there is a possibility that Lukaku could be rested in Kaliningrad with the knockout stages to look forward to.
Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at how Kane and Lukaku match up against each other.
Harry Kane
The Tottenham striker leads the World Cup scoring charts with five goals in his first two matches. His hat-trick in the 6-1 demolition of Panama saw Kane become only the third England player to achieve the feat in a World Cup, following Geoff Hurst and Gary Lineker.
Strengths and weaknesses
Kane’s innate ability to score all types of goals from all areas of the pitch makes him a man to be feared. However, a criticism could be that he occasionally drifts in and out of matches and goes missing.
Temperament
Kane appears to be a born winner, his thirst for goals is right up there with Cristiano Ronaldo. He was calmness personified when taking two penalties against Panama.
Fitness
Appears fit, no injury concern.
Romelu Lukaku
The Manchester United striker has four goals so far in Russia, scoring twice in each game against Panama and Tunisia.
Strengths and weaknesses
Lukaku’s strength is his pace and power, making him a constant threat to defenders who will not want him running behind them. A criticism is that his first touch and hold-up play is not always the best.
Temperament
His big-match mentality has long been questioned and he would relish scoring against his fellow Premier League stars. Belgium will need him to step up in the knockout rounds.
Fitness
Lukaku went off injured during the second half against Tunisia but a scan has showed no serious damage to his ankle. Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has not ruled out the possibility of the 25-year-old featuring against England.
