Portis heads Bulls charge against Heat
Chicago snapped a four-game skid.
Bobby Portis and the Chicago Bulls stormed ahead in the second half to beat the Miami Heat 105-89.
The forward scored 22 of his 26 points after the halfway mark, while Wayne Selden scored 20 and Lauri Markkanen had 14 across the game.
The win was a welcome uptick for the Bulls, who posted their worst tally for a January in the franchise’s history at two wins and 13 losses.
Tyler Johnson scored 15 points for Miami, who only managed to notch 21 in the final 12 minutes.
Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined to rack up 66 points and boost the Portland Trail Blazers to a 132-105 win over Utah Jazz.
Lillard scored 36 points and had 11 assists, while Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points for Utah.
In other games the Charlotte Hornets were routed by the Boston Celtics 126-94, the Dallas Mavericks lost to the New York Knicks 114-90 and the Washington Wizards beat the Indiana Pacers 107-89.
The Memphis Grizzlies were edged 99-97 by the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime and the Denver Nuggets beat the New Orleans Pelicans 105-99, while the Atlanta Hawks lost to the Sacramento Kings 135-113.
