1045 – Rashford has given his first interview as a Villa player. He told Villa TV: “Definitely excited. It’s an ambitious time for this club and a great opportunity for me to join this team and help them keep pushing forward. I’m excited and can’t wait for the first training session and game. He’s (Unai Emery) a top manager and what he’s done for the club since coming in is unbelievable. It’s their constant ambition which is attractive and why you want to join such a club. You want to keep improving year on year and that’s what the team’s been doing and doing this year.”

1035 – Middlesbrough play Sunderland tonight in a top Championship tussle, but that won’t stop them entering the market. Michael Carrick has brought in Samuel Iling-Junior on loan from Villa, after the winger was recalled from his stint at Bologna.

1015 – Not transfer related but big news from the bottom of League Two. Carlisle, propping up the table and five points from safety, have sacked manager Mike Williamson.

1005: Burnley are looking to bolster their squad for the Championship run-in and they have just done that, pulling off somewhat of a coup to lure Marcus Edwards away from Sporting Lisbon on loan until the end of the campaign. Clarets boss Scott Parker coached Edwards during his time in the Tottenham academy. “It feels amazing. Burnley is like a Premier League club. I’m really happy to be here,” Edwards said.

Villa have let another player go, allowing Sil Swinkels to link up with Bristol Rovers on a temporary basis.

1000 – Brighton are planning ahead. The Seagulls have signed Stefanos Tzimas from Bundesliga 2 side FC Nuremburg for a reported £20million, with the 19-year-old forward remaining with the German club on loan for the rest of the season.

0940 – I said Tottenham would be browsing the market today, but they won’t be bringing in a defender from their London rivals, according to our Spurs correspondent George Sessions. “Tottenham are exploring potential options on transfer deadline day, but will not pursue a move for Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi, who has been heavily linked with the club in the last 24 hours.”

0937 – Middlesbrough have let Alex Gilbert join Charlton on loan, while Bristol City have handed Mark Sykes a contract extension.

0930 – Joao Felix could look for more game time after struggling to get into Chelsea’s starting XI. The Portugal forward has been linked with AC Milan, for whom Kyle Walker made his debut in the derby with Inter Milan on Sunday night.

0905 – An early one in the Championship. Millwall have paid an undisclosed fee to capture 21-year-old winger Benicio Baker from Brighton.

0836 – Villa are expected to be busy today with Asensio and possibly a defender following Rashford through the door. It’s not just incomings at Villa Park though, with right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic joining RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season.

0830 – Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has spoken a lot about needing help in the market after his side have struggled with injuries, with Kevin Danso signing on loan from Lens on Sunday. Will a striker come through the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
