Manchester United will be hoping their latest grey kit is more lucky than their previous one…

In fairness it’s more of a silver this time round.

As change kits go, there aren’t many more famous ones than Manchester United’s grey number in the 1995/96 season – United went 3-0 down against Southampton and changed tops at half-time.

But it seems that more than 20 years later those wounds have healed, with United’s new number sporting a silver/grey colour scheme with the statue of United’s famous trio – George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton – in the background.

It’s a pretty cool kit, designed by competition entrant Aniello Carotenuto – Paul Pogba likes it too.

“You’ve made a dream. I like it, I like it,” the midfielder told Carotenuto.

United fans will hope the kit helps United perform on the pitch, unlike the grey top from the 1995/96 season.

It didn’t stop Ferguson’s side from winning the title however, clinching it by four points from Newcastle.
