James Anderson became the first England bowler in history to reach 500 Test match wickets after bowling Kraigg Brathwaite out at Lord’s.

Knocking the middle stump back in the West Indies’ second innings, Anderson reached the landmark in his 129th Test, the third between the sides this series.

Many current and former professional cricketers took to Twitter to congratulate Anderson, who is sixth on the all-time Test wickets list.

Eoin Morgan described it as: “an incredible achievement”.

Meanwhile one of Australia’s quickest, Brett Lee, showed his respect for Jimmy’s achievement too.

And former county cricket player Simon Hughes pointed out the “perfect symmetry” of the landmark.

Congratulations Jimmy.
