Stuart Broad is the number one FPL manager this week out of six million players
But he’s a long way off the top in a mini league among his England team-mates.
Stuart Broad is one of the best bowlers in world cricket, but it turns out he’s also one of the best fantasy football players – this week at least.
The 31-year-old has 410 Test wickets to his name and is currently the 12th best Test bowler according to the ICC rankings, but in the Fantasy Premier League’s gameweek 37, he’s number one.
With just one match to go in the gameweek – West Ham v Manchester United – Broad will have a nervy wait to see if he can retain first place.
The England bowler used his bench boost chip to benefit from points scored by his substitute players, while he captained Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for 46 points.
His current score of 169 points also matches his highest batting score in Tests, an innings of 169 against Pakistan at Lord’s in 2010.
Broad posted a picture of his team to Instagram along with the caption: “I enjoyed 8-15 in the Ashes but leading GW37 in #EPL Fantasy Football runs it close as a sporting achievement!”
