The warning from Guernsey Police comes after two vehicles were stolen in the last week.

A white Daihatsu Van with green paint on the lower side panels was taken sometime after 6pm on New Year’s Eve from St John’s Road in St Peter Port. It was found near the airport runway viewing car park at 10.30am the following morning.

The second stolen vehicle was a gold Perodua Kelisa, registration 71702, which was taken from a house in Bouillon Road in St Andrew's overnight on Tuesday 2 January and is still missing.

Both vehicles had been left unlocked.

'It’s easy to get distracted when leaving your vehicle, but try to get into the habit of locking it, even if you are only leaving it for a short while,' said Guernsey Police crime reduction adviser Andy Goodall.

  • Anyone with any information about either of the two thefts is asked to contact Guernsey Police on 725111, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
