Joey 'could end up as airport art piece'

JOEY, Aurigny's iconic Trislander with the red nose, is likely to end his days as a piece of art at an airport.

Aurigny chief executive Mark Darby said yesterday that any ideas of introducing a 'Joey memorial flight' as the airline moves away from its Trislander fleet was likely to be too expensive to pursue.

'So, if flying isn't an option, it's most likely that Joey will end up on a plinth outside an airport, all resplendent in shiny yellow and with a red nose,' Mr Darby told the Institute of Directors' monthly lunch. 'Probably the best thing is if it ends up on static display.'
