Thousands attend Liberation Day celebrations

THOUSANDS of islanders are attending today's Liberation Day celebrations along the Town seafront.

This morning's events saw Royal Navy representatives, Gurkhas, Guernsey Armed Forces cadets, Chelsea Pensioners and veterans take part in a parade through Town while Second World War military vehicles later took part in the annual cavalcade.

There are also a variety of other events and activities taking place in St Peter Port today, including live music and dance performances, with more bands and fireworks planned for this evening.
