Dog stranded at airport 'due to oversight'

A JACK Russell was left stranded at the departure gate at Southampton Airport after not being allowed on a flight, despite its owner having paid for the pet.

Sharon Bishop, 42, pictured, was reduced to tears when

Flybe staff would not allow 13-year-old Sky to fly home with her to Guernsey.

She had no option but to board the plane without the dog, which was already sedated.

But an angry and upset Ms Bishop claimed she was misinformed after staff at the Guernsey Flybe desk said it would not be a problem and handed her paperwork that clearly stated she had an extra seat booked in the cabin for a small animal.

The airline has admitted that there was an oversight by its handling agents in Guernsey.
