I'M NOT a great one for looking back.
This became clear as, over the last 18 months or so, my retirement from the paper has become – in certain circles at least – one of the most widely discussed departures I have ever known.
Even the Bailiff stopped while on a cliff walk about 12 months ago to ask about it and the Lt-Governor has been chafing me on announcement dates and so on for even longer.
Many others have made similar inquiries and some, rather kindly, suggested I should write my memories.
